IPL Window gets extended-Record number of matches may be played if things go as per plan

A great surprise for Indian cricket fans is that the Indian Premier League is all set to get expanded in the international calendar’s next cricket cycle(2023-2027). Not Only IPL but also Australia’s Big Bash League and England’s The Hundred tournaments are all set to get their scheduled space.

Currently, IPL is a two-month-long tournament that’s scheduled to take place from the end of March to the end of May. But now the competition will be extended up to the first week of June.

Jay Shah told earlier that IPL is going to be extended and that’s come true after today’s declaration.

According to ESPNCricinfo during the IPL window, hardly any international game has been scheduled in the cycle of 2023-2027.

If everything happens according to plan then the number of matches in IPL will be increased in the next seasons.

IPL 2023 and IPL 2024 may hold 74 matches whereas, in IPL 2025 and IPL 2026, there may be 84 and 94 matches respectively.

It means the greatest carnival of Indian cricket will be held at a big time of the year and spectators can enjoy more matches. However, many experts aren’t satisfied with this decision as international cricket should be given more priority. But this would also be a chance for young cricketers to step up with big names and put their names on the international circuit.
