India has been honoured with the Guinness World Record for hosting the largest number of spectators in a T20 game.
On 29th May, World’s biggest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium hosted IPL final between Gujarat Titans & Rajasthan Royals. There were 101,566 people who witnessed this epic encounter. In the match, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals to clinch their maiden IPL title.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah took his twitter account and informed about this achievement. Shah wrote “Extremely delighted & proud to receive the Guinness World Record for the largest attendance at a T20 match when 101,566 people witnessed the epic @IPL final at @GCAMotera’s magnificent Narendra Modi Stadium on 29 May 2022. A big thanks to our fans for making this possible! @BCCI”
