ICC’s FTP for 2023-2027

If there is any indication of the world progressing, the proof is evident in International Cricket. The ICC has grown stronger every year, with more and more countries jumping into playing the game and primary membership jumping to a dozen.

The above is justified by the FTP Cycle. It lays down the blueprint of cricket to be played over the next four years. The previous plan ends this year, and the new one starts next year (2023) and lasts till 2027. In comparison, there is an increase of matches by 83 matches. The previous cycle had 694, and the current one has 777!

The minnows in the form of Ireland, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan would get more cricket, and powerful cricketing Nations like South Africa and India get to play less if one goes by reputation. Moreover, many nations have their T20 Championships, which block the window of international participation. Here is the schedule of the current FTP.
