Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting lauded Virat Kohli for his current form.
Kohli is the leading run-scorer batter in the tournament at the moment. In the 4 matches, he smashed 220 runs at an average of 220 comprising of 3 fifties. Kohli has been in a different rhythm after he scored his 71st hundred against Afghanistan in Asia Cup.
Ricky Ponting said that he believed that Kohli will come back in form because player of his calibre always tends to find a way. “He’s been a champion player of the game in all three formats for a long period of time,” ponting quoted.
“One thing I’ve learnt about champion players, in this game in particular, is you just never write them off. They always tend to find a way, particularly when it matters most, to dig deep enough and find a way to get a job done,” Ponting added.
“Virat rolling the clock back a little bit, playing a match-winning knock, being man of the match in what I think is one of the best sporting spectacles that I’ve ever seen,” Ponting further added
