After taking break from the limited over series against West Indies and Zimbabwe, Virat Kohli is all set to be back in action in the Asia Cup. The Indian superstar hasn’t been in good form over the last few years. He couldn’t put up a great show for the fans in India’s recent tour to England. The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has now opened up about Virat Kohli’s off form.
The former skipper of India could manage to score only 33 runs in the two ODIs he was a part of in England. He couldn’t perform in the shortest format too according to his caliber against the same opponent as he was dismissed on only 1 and 11 runs. Later he decided to take rest from the away series against West Indies and Zimbabwe.
The 33 years old batter has already started gearing up for the prestigious continental tournament. The prolific batter is also feeling the pressure as criticism has started already and the youngsters are performing really well.
Sourav Ganguly’s comment on Virat Kohli’s off form:
In this context former Indian captain and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has come up with his view on the lean patch of Virat.
In a recent interview, Ganguly told Sports Tak, “Let him practice, let him play matches. He is a big player and has scored plenty of runs. I am hopeful that he will make a comeback. He is just not being able to score a century and I believe he will find his form in the Asia Cup.”
Kohli’s off form is lasting for quite a long time as he scored his last century back in 2019 in the historic pink-ball Test against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Three years have passed and many things have changed. Virat has stepped down from captaincy in all the 3 formats and Rohit is now India’s full time captain.
After the humiliation in the last T20 World Cup in Dubai against Pakistan, Virat will also look up to settle the score.
The millions of fans and followers of Virat, across the globe are waiting eagerly to stand on their feet and cherish more masterclasses from their beloved King Kohli.
