Former India’s coach Ravi Shastri could not stop his praise for India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav.
In the match against Netherlands, Suryakumar Yadav smacked his first fifty in a T20 World Cup game. Surya scored 51* runs in 25 balls while batting first. For his stupendous knock, he was declared the player of the series.
After the game, commentator and former coach Ravi Shastri hailed Suryakumar Yadav for his batting. “I think he is a 3-format player. I know they don’t talk about him for test cricket. This guy can play test cricket and surprise a few. Send him at number 5. Let him stir it up”, said Shastri.
Suryakumar Yadav has played 36 T20I games so far in which he has scored 1,111 runs striking at 177 and a sublime average of 39. He is currently the leading run-scorer Indian batter in T20Is in 2022 as well as number 2 ranked batter in ICC T20 rankings.
