Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has shared a bold tweet after BCCI had announced the 16 members, Indian squad, for the West Indies Tour.
India will be taking on West Indies from 22nd July in a 3-match ODI series at Port of Spain. The Indian team will tour under veteran Shikhar Dhawan’s captaincy while Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, and Jasprit Bumrah’s service will be unavailable as they have been rested.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan takes a dig at this BCCI selection as he posted a bold tweet. He said that no one comes back in form by resting. His short tweet clearly indicates that his point is on Indian Captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both have been going through a very lean patch. But have been rested several times in some series.
He wanted to say that both have been the pillar of Indian cricket for a long time. In this lean patch, both should play as much as possible to get back in form. But the BCCI has been giving them rest frequently. The former all-rounder has mainly pointed out this issue.

Fans are divided after Pathan’s tweet. Some are taking it positively as both have carried Indian cricket for a long time and they should be given more chances. The others think that the BCCI has taken the correct decision as the young stars need to get a chance instead of the out-of-form players.
India has recently lost in the India vs England 5th test match. Virat couldn’t perform and Rohit couldn’t take the field due to covid. Both have indeed may be at most gray part of their career but if they don’t come back in from India will face a tough challenge in the two World Cups in the coming two years.
