Ex-Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria criticizes Indian young sensation, Rishabh Pant, for his fitness after the India vs South Africa series.
Rishabh Pant led the young Indian team and managed to draw the series with the South African team after leaving behind 0-2. But captain Rishabh Pant couldn’t put up a show with his bat and managed to score only 57 runs in 4 innings. He got dismissed in the same way in all four innings that drew criticism toward him. He tried to smash the way outside of the stamp ball resulting in a catch at the boundary line every time.
Former Indian Captain Sunil Gavaskar also said that he didn’t learn from his mistakes. Many cricket experts have said that he might lose his place in the T20 WC as the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has emerged brilliantly.
Former Pakistan cricketer Dinesh Kaneria has directly blamed Rishabh’s fitness and told that his fitness is not up to the mark. It’s totally low, not even mediocre. He also added that when Kohli took up captaincy there was a great change in the team’s fitness but Pant lagged behind.

He also talked about captain Rohit’s fitness on his official YouTube Channel and told that though Rohit’s fitness is not good somehow it works as he is a batter but Pant has to improve in his fitness as he is a wicket-keeper. He also added that low fitness directly affects the reflexes for which Rishabh sometimes faces struggles. He also suggested that mental toughness and maturity will come with fitness.
Though it’s a matter of concern, some fans aren’t happy with the way former Pakistan cricketer has blamed directly the two national players of India regarding their fitness. If Pant can improve his fitness he will add more sides to his games that would help him to take forwards his achievement.
