Eng vs Ind 1st T20: Watch – Rohit departs after a quickfire start

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma departs after a quick fire of 24 runs in the India vs England 1st T20 match.

The Indian captain won the toss and elected to bat first on a very good pitch. Rohit started his innings so well.

After measuring two balls of Sam Curran, Rohit stepped out and hit it straight down the ground. Diving Jordan’s hand was not enough to stop that. Rohit was looking in full control. He flicks Topley for four at the square leg.

Jos Buttler changed the plan quickly and introduced Moeen Ali to change the pace.

Rohit was looking as comfortable as he was on seamers. He hit two consecutive sweeps to gain two more boundaries. But the last laugh went to Moeen Ali and Jos Buttler. Ali bowled a straighter one on which Rohit went to guide it through the cover. But the ball took Rohit’s outside edge and Jos completed a very nice catch despite a huge deflection. Eventually, Rohit had to depart after 24 runs on just 14 balls and became the first dismissal on Ali’s 50th T20 match.

India has reached 29/1 after the end of 3 overs. Now the other opener Ishan Kishan and Deepak Hooda at the crease. Both will look to build up a partnership from here and take India to a strong position.
