England fast bowler Richard Gleeson has made a stunning debut by taking three big wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant so far. Jos Buttler took an absolute screamer to dismiss Indian captain Rohit Sharma.
India is taking on England in the 2nd T20I match of the series. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first. But India got a quick-fire start with help of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant who came to open the innings in this match.
Rohit was looking in great touch. He hit a huge six over the square leg in the first over. He didn’t restrict himself and kept on attacking. He took on David Willey again and hit a maximum over the long-off. Moeen Ali couldn’t get away from him too and get hit over point for a boundary. In that over Rohit hit a half-cracker over the mid-wicket.
Rohit tried to put the pressure on debutant Richard Gleeson and hit a boundary at long-on.
But Gleeson came back with a bouncer and Rohit’s miss-hit was going over the keeper’s head but keeper Jos Buttler ran backward and took a magnificent diving catch.
Eventually, Rohit had to return to the pavilion on individual 31 runs in 20 balls.
Gleeson got pumped up with the wicket and gave a massive blow to India when he dismissed Virat Kohli. Kohli wanted to slog the outside off-stump ball towards mid-wicket but the ball got his outside edge and went straight upward. Malan took a brilliant catch by keeping his eyes on the ball.
On the very next ball, Gleeson got the wicket of dangerous Rishabh Pant. Pant was batting with his aggressive mindset and got up to 26 runs in 15 balls. He wanted to hit the ball over square leg but he could only manage to nick the ball with his inside edge and Jos Buttler took a regulation catch.
Jos Buttler stole the show with his brilliant catch. Buttler’s catch will surely boost up the hosts to make comeback in the series.
