Fortunes favours the brave. Once again the proverb goes true and this time for Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah.
After scoring a massive total of 412 runs in the first innings India put England to bat. After creating a world record with bat Bumrah shined once again with the ball and picked up 3 top-order wickets of England.
Among the three wickets, Bumrah will remember the wicket of Alex Lees and Ollie Pope for a long time as he might not have got the chance to bowl the deliveries if he would bowl a legal delivery on the previous balls. On both occasions, Bumrah bowled a no-ball on the sixth delivery and got a wicket on the very next ball both times.
For Lees Bumrah went around the wicket and bowled a fuller length delivery which Lees missed and the ball crashed into the stumps.
And Bumrah picked up O. Pope on a classical test match delivery. He bowled an outside off seaming delivery on which Pope went for a big cover drive but all he could do was nick the ball and guided it to Shubman Gill at the slip who took a juggling catch. The animatic celebration of Bumrah said it all about his happiness after getting two wickets on two extra deliveries.
He also dismissed Zak Crawley at the slip. Till now it has been a fantastic day for the Indian captain. So far England is at a score of 60/3 and a session is left in today’s game. Though the match is now stopped due to rain, when the match will resume Bumrah will get a chance to pick up his 5 wicket haul and bag a memorable day for him.
