Dinesh Karthik heaps praise for Team India Management

Dinesh Karthik is having his dream year in international cricket. From performing extraordinarily for RCB to returning back in national squad and becoming the first choice for wicket-keeper, everything is going so well for Karthik.

Karthik was in phenomenal touch during IPL 2022 which helped him getting chance in Indian team. Since his comeback, he has smashed 174 runs in 13 innings and ensured his role as a finisher in the team. He has been splendid in every series he has played including series against South Africa and England. In the first T20 against West Indies, he smacked 41 runs off 19 balls and aided team India in registering victory.

In the recent press conference, Karthik said that he worked very hard on his power hitting and he is elated that captain and coach have shown trust in him, hence, he wants to pay them back by contributing for Team India. Karthik added that finisher role is not easy to crack as you have to be consistent as well as need to make impact everytime you come to bat.

Karthik further stated that Pressure is a privilege at this point in time. As a cricketer, as a sportsperson, it is something which is given only when you are playing at the highest level and people expect certain things from you, so he is happy. He thinks what is important is making sure that on a given day, what the match situation is, reading the match situation and trying to give your best on that given day.”

While talking about team environment, 37-year-old said that this is one of the best team environments he has been in because of the consistency and continuity they seem to be giving to players. They are not judged on an everyday basis and they are given time, they are given the opportunity to fail. He thinks it is very important to give players the opportunity to fail and then move on to the next player,”
