Pakistan Cricket Board announced 15-men squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia on Thursday.
The team consist of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan as the openers. Fakhar Zaman whose performance was poor in Asia Cup 2022 have been kept in reserve category. Test opener Shan Masood have given opportunity in the squad in place of Fakhar Zaman.
Shadab Khan is the vice-captain of the squad. Pakistan’s batting order consist of Babar Azam, Mohammmad Rizwan, Shan Masood and the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed, Asif Ali and Khusdil Shah. Veteran Shoaib Malik did not get chance in the squad even after getting a lot of support from former cricketers during Asia Cup.
Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain are the four pacers in the Pakistan squad. Mohammad Haris and Shahnawaz Dahani alongside Fakhar Zaman have been named as travelling reserves.
Mohammad Amir who was once Pakistan’s ace pacer took to his twitter account and criticised the team selection by mentioning the selectors. ‘’Amir wrote chief slector ki cheap selection 😆’’
However after his tweet, got trolled heavily by Pak fans. Some of the fans used Amir’s fixing scandal incident to reply to his tweet.
