As the T20 World Cup is inching closer, every team is trying to make their best possible playing XI for the World Cup.
Talking about Indian team, many former Indian cricketers opined about the right choices to make while selecting India’s squad for the World Cup. Kris Srikkanth’s is one of the names who showed his concern about the playing XI for the upcoming tournament.
Srikkanth urged the selector during the 1st T20 game between India and West Indies to select the accurate team for the World Cup. Srikkanth’s former teammate, Chetan Sharma is the current selector of Team India. Talking about the selection, Srikkanth said that Chetan should select the right team for the World Cup and if he needs any suggestion then he should call him or Ravi Shastri.
“ee chetu (Chetan) aab correct team select karna. Advice chaiye toh mereko phone kardo Ravi (Shastri) ko call kardo, humdono aacha guidance denge aapko” Srikkanth stated.
Currently India tried different combinations in the top order. They tried Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda and Suryakumar Yadav as openers to observe if the combination works well with Rohit or not. Srikkanth also talked about this method of selectors and said that the trial and error methodology they are doing is absolutely fine and they should prepare the right combination for the team before Asia Cup.
