The competition for WTC final between India & Sri Lanka has escalated.
India lost the third test match against Australia and now with the loss, they will have to defeat Australia anyhow to finish at number 2 in the points table. With the victory in the third test, Australia now have 69+ PCT and have ensured their top spot in points table. Australia is also qualified for World Test Championship final.
India has dropped to a PCT of 60, however, they still take the 2nd spot in the WTC points table. Sri Lanka is placed in the 3rd spot with a PCT of 53.0. If India wins the 4th test match, they will have 63 PCT and will qualify for the final as the second team irrespective of the result of the series between New Zealand & Sri Lanka.
But if India loses or draws the fourth test game, Sri Lanka will have a chance to qualify for the final. But in order to qualify, Sri Lanka will have to beat New Zealand by 2-0 in 2-match series. Series win of 1-0 won’t aid Sri Lanka quality even if India loses the fourth test match.
