Virat Kohli’s rough patch is getting longer and longer. That’s raising the voice to drop him from the team louder and louder. The former Indian skipper has been out of form for the last two years. No century came from his bat in over 100 innings. Many experts have shared their opinions regarding him. Many have suggested dropping him. But Ashish Nehra came up with his view and backed Virat.
In an interview, the former Indian Pacer has said that if any player is out of form for so long, criticism would be there even if he is not of Kohli’s caliber. When a player is playing he tries to keep himself out of the outer voice and focus on his game. It’s important how the teammates and management are backing him. It’s normal when he isn’t scoring runs, he will be dropped, but if his name is Virat Kohli, he deserves some extra chances due to his past contributions.

He added that everyone knows his accomplishments towards the team. At the age of 33, fitness is not an issue. Nehra also expects that Virat would come back into his touch after the West Indies tour. He should take a month-long rest to keep himself away from the noises.

When he was asked about Kapil Dev’s view to drop Virat from the T20 team, Nehra replied, it’s true if you aren’t scoring runs you will be dropped but there will be some if and but. Even Rohit wasn’t scoring runs before the 1st ODI. He said that When anyone is playing in all the 3 formats, the chance of getting back in form is much more as he gets more chances still anybody can fail. Nehra is also expecting like all the Indian cricket fans that Virat Kohli will come back into his form.
India has won the 1st ODI against England at the oval with the help of Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant bowling. Kohli is expected to return from his groin strain and will take the field at Lord’s.
