Bumrah surpasses 40 years old Record of this Indian Legend

Jasprit Bumrah has crossed the 100 mark of wickets in SENA featuring himself as the sixth Indian bowler to do so.

The Indian Speedstar has reached this landmark after scattering England’s Zak Crawley’s off stump in the 22nd over of England’s 2nd innings in ongoing India vs England test match. Crawley misjudged the ball and left, the ball came back sharply and crashed onto Zak’s off stump. Bumrah didn’t take much time to dismiss the other in form English batsman Ollie Pope.

With dismissing Pope he also named a record that was after Kapil Dev’s name for around 40 years. Kapil took 22 wickets in the home series against England in 1981-82. That was the highest number of wickets taken by an Indian against England in a series. But soon after dismissing Pope Bumrah reached 23 wickets in the series against England and surpassed legendary Kapil Dev’s record.

He has also become the sixth Indian bowler to cross the 100 wickets mark in SENA countries after Anil Kumble (141), Ishant Sharma (130), Zaheer Khan (119), Mohammed Shami (119), and Kapil Dev (119).

Coming to the match, going between India and England, India has lost their advantage and is on the edge of a loss despite having a huge lead in the first innings. England needs only 119 runs to win on the final day of the match with 7 wickets in hand. Indian bowlers have to step up once again on this dead pitch to achieve a historic win.
