Under Rohit Sharma captaincy, India first knocked out from group stage of Asia Cup 2022 and then disqualified from the semifinal of T20 World Cup 2022 by losing to England. BCCI are looking to give T20I captaincy to Hardik Pandya.
Whereas Rohit Sharma will continue to lead Team India in ODI & Test formats. Hardik Pandya has been terrific as a captain this year winning the first IPL title as a captain captaining for Gujarat Titans.
This would be the first time Team India will go for split captaincy. Earlier, MS Dhoni used to lead the team in all three formats at the same time, followed by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
