On Saturday, BCCI tweeted and announced Team India’s squad for 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. Most of the players are those who played recent series against West Indies.
Southpaw batter Shikhar Dhawan has been given the responsibility to lead the team again as Rohit Sharma will not be available. Attacking batsman Rahul Tripathi got the opportunity in the squad after being missed out from the squad against West Indies.
Ishan Kishan who was not picked for series against West Indies, will make his comeback against Zimbabwe. Ishan and Sanju Samson will be the two wicket-keepers for the series. Left-arm spinner Washington Sundar is also making his entry in the white ball squad after the gap of more than a year.
Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav will also be seen in action this time after getting sidelined from the series against West Indies. Deepak Chahar who was enduring injury from past few months will also show his presence on Zimbabwe tour.
But the most shocking thing in the squad is no name of Virat Kohli. There were rumours that Kohli will get to play series against Zimbabwe to regain his form but sadly he won’t be available for this series either.
