Babar Azam supports Virat Kohli in his bad phase, fans loving the gesture
Virat Kohli has been going through the worst phase of his career since 2014 England tour. Not only he has stopped to score centuries but he has not been able to cross 50-plus scores too. Most of the time he looks out of the touch when he comes to bat.
Many former cricketers have come in support of him while many other cricketers are criticizing his current form and want selectors to drop him. Recently Kapil Dev raised fingers on Kohli’s current form and said that if R Ashwin can be dropped from test team then why can’t Virat Kohli be dropped from white ball squad. Virender Sehwag and Venkatesh Prasad also criticized him in a indirect way through their tweet posts.
But the cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar showed support for him and said that Kohli is not the only player who is currently out of form. He also added that he cannot understand that when Rohit Sharma does not score runs no one talks about it.
Recently Pakistan’s captain and number one ranked batsman Babar Azam showed his support for Virat Kohli. On Friday, Babar Azam through his twitter handle tweeted with a caption “This too shall pass. Stay strong.” and added a picture of him and Virat Kohli. Even being rivals Babar did not hesitate to come forward and show support to legendary Indian batsman.
Babar might be the first Pakistan cricketer to have given sympathy to Virat Kohli in his bad phase. Earlier, Dinesh Kanaria, former Pak cricketer slammed Kohli and said that he has become a liability on his team. So, either he needs to give up his place or make a comeback before the T20 World Cup.
