Social media is a kind of online platform were people either worship you, adore you or troll you and criticize you. Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh became the prey of people’s wrath on Sunday in the match against Pakistan.
Pakistan needed 30 runs to win the game in 3 overs against India in Super 4. Ravi Bishnoi came to bowl the 18th over to Asif Ali. On the 3rd delivery, Asif Ali tried to play slog-sweep but the ball went in air after the thick edge where Arshdeep Singh was standing but he could not catch the ball and Asif Ali got an another chance to spend time at the crease.
After that, Asif Ali smashed 19 runs in Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s over and almost secured the victory for Pakistan. Arshdeep Singh was trolled a lot on social media for dropping catch. He was badly abused in his Instagram posts comment section and few fans used vile language for him.
But many Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli & Mohammed Shami came in support of Arshdeep Singh. In an interview Mohammed Shami showed his support for Arshdeep Singh and said that people only live to troll them, have no other job. When they perform well people don’t say they took a good catch but will troll them?” said Shami. “Agar dam hai toh real accounts se aaye na, fake account se toh koi bhi msg kar sakta hai (If you have the audacity, then comes from real accounts; anyone can message from fake accounts,) Shami added.
