On Sunday, Suryakumar Yadav smashed his second T20I century against New Zealand in the second T20 and won player of the match award for his superb 111 runs off 51 deliveries. With this award, Suryakumar now holds the record of winning most player of the match awards in T20Is this year (7) surpassing Virat Kohli (6) in 2016.

After this knock, his contemporary cricketers as well as former cricketers heaped praises for his absolute destructive innings. India’s star batter Virat Kohli couldn’t stop himself to tweet for Surya either. Kohli took to his twitter and stated “Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him. 😂 @surya_14kumar”

And when Surya was asked to respond on Kohli’s compliment for him, Surya said that “Abhi recently humne kuch games khele hain saath mein, bahut achi partnership ki hain.
