Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India’s 15 men squad for the upcoming Asip Cup which is to commence from 27th August.
Virat Kohli who was on rest during series against West Indies has been selected for the tournament. KL Rahul who was out of cricketing action due to injury has been given the responsibility of vice-captaincy. Rest of the team include Sky, Pant, Hooda, Karthik, Hardik, Jadeja, Ashwin, Chahal, Bishnoi, Bhuvi, Arshdeep, Avesh.
Commentator Aakash Chopra picked his probable playing XI for the first game against Pakistan. Chopra has given the responsibility of opening to Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul while Virat Kohli will bat at number 3. He sidelined Dinesh Karthik from his playing XI and selected Deepak Hooda.
Aakash believes that the presence of Hooda will strengthen the batting line-up. Aakash picked Rishabh Pant as his wicket-keeper and Hardik as the fast bowling all-rounder. Another surprise in his squad is that he did not give chance to veteran R Ashwin. Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzi Chahal are his two spinners.
